The new 5th gen Ram 2500 Power Wagon trucks with radius arm front suspensions and coil spring rear suspensions are an awesome platform to build the nicest-riding, most capable 4x4 truck you can get. While the factory ride is better than previous generations, there is still a lot of room for improvement. The factory coil springs are still too stiff and you actually bottom out the front suspension very easily just driving on the road. The rear suspension is too stiff when unloaded, however it does ride a lot better once you have some weight on it. For those who aren't always loaded down, we have a really great suspension for you. The improvement in ride quality is unbelievable, and you'll also gain several inches of wheel travel front and rear for those times when you go off roading or are just bombing down some dirt roads.
Our suspension system consists of 2" lift front dual rate coil springs, and stock height rear dual rate coil springs, Fox 2.0 IFP shocks (you can upgrade to other shocks), new sway bar end links for the front, and heavy duty adjustable track bars front and rear so you can keep the axles centered. There are less expensive "lift kits" out there but none will improve the ride quality like our system does. We don't just want to lift your truck, we want to make it drive and steer better than stock. When you own an expensive brand new truck, you don't want to cheap out on the suspension. Here is what DOR can provide to improve your ride:
2" Lift Front Dual Rate Coil Springs, 15% softer than stock for a very smooth ride and 10" of wheel travel (4" compression, 6" extension from ride height).
Stock Height Rear Triple Rate Coil Springs, 15% softer than stock for a much smoother ride when unloaded and 10" of wheel travel (5" compression, 5" extension from ride height).
Fox 2.0 IFP shocks front and rear, tuned for your truck and these spring rates. You can also upgrade to Fox 2.0" remote resi shocks, or King 2.5" remote reservoir shocks.
Heavy Duty Adjustable Front Track Bar, made from 1.5" OD DOM tubing with a huge uniball at the frame side and an adjustable chromoly heim joint at the axle side.
Heavy Duty Adjustable Rear Track Bar, made from 1.5" OD DOM tubing with adjustable 1" shank Currie Johnny Joints at both ends.
1.25" OD front sway bar end links with 3/4" chromoly heim joints to replace your weak factory end links and compensate for the extra lift without the use of cheap drop brackets.
Optional, and recommended: DOR 3" long arms using Currie Johnny Joints at the frame and fixed clevis mounts at the axle for a single-adjustable application. The upper and lower arms are 2" OD x .250" wall DOM with 1.25" shank Johnny Joints, and the lower arm bolts into the factory radius arm mount. The new upper arm mount easily bolts to the frame by drilling a few holes. All hardware is included and there is no cutting required. The long arms will provide more tire clearance and fix the coil bow issue, giving you a better ride, more suspension travel, and better performance from the front suspension, all while increasing your ground clearance and reliability of the truck. The upper arm is bent to clear the body mount and the lower arm is bent to give you more tire clearance than stock.
Optional: Rear sway bar end links. These are not needed but if you want to upgrade your rear end links to something much stronger, you want these. The end links are made using the same materials as the front end links and will bolt right up to your truck in a few minutes.
Compare our Power Wagon suspension to any other on the market and you will find that we offer more for your money, using the most durable parts available. Everything we build is overkill and we do not use drop brackets on anything at this suspension height. If you want to truly upgrade your Power Wagon suspension, we offer the only setup worth considering.
With this setup, you can easily clear 37" tires on the factory wheels, and you can clear 40" tires if you clearance the fender and run a high clearance front bumper, or get the AEV fenders. The truck shown in the photos has 37" Toyo MT tires on Method 17x8.5" wheels with 4.75" backspacing. There is some light rubbing of the factory inner fender that can be clearanced with a heat gun.
For those who still need to tow heavy, you can add a set of Timbren air bags or something similar and retain all of your factory towing capacity very easily. Ask about our rear air bag setup.
This kit fits 2014 through 2017 Ram 2500 4x4 Power Wagon trucks.
If your Power Wagon is equipped with a camper or carries a lot of weight in the bed all the time, you will probably want to keep your factory rear coils rather than run our softer coils. However the rest of the suspension works great and you can always add the coils later if you shed some weight.
The 2.5" shock option adds about 4 weeks in most cases.
